WIlliams we like to connect with our community by attending Caffeine and Carburetors, a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. This year we met at Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee in New Canaan, CT, drank coffee together, and then enjoyed a front-row seat as some truly exceptional cars took a drive in the country.

Our most recent event was September 18 when we were able to set up our booth and share the benefits of our garage floor coating system, a must-have for those of us with special vehicles to care for. Check out a few of our favorite photos from the big day!

What are the benefits of a polyurea garage floor coating?

  1. Our floor coating system brings a fresh, clean look to any concrete floor, including the garage where you keep your gorgeous ride.
  2. Polyurea is slip resistant thanks to vinyl chips that add texture to your floor.
  3. Want to keep your floor clean?  Simply use a broom or a microfiber dust mop. For liquid spills use a paper towel or soft cloth.
  4. Polyurea won’t fill your house with an unbearable odor because it smells more like a freshly painted room than a toxic chemical.  Because of this, you can even have your floors coated in the winter when the windows are closed.
  5. Polyurea is also heat and chemical resistant
  6. No hot-tire pickup!
  7. 15-year residential warranty!

Our Floor Coatings by AG Williams team can coat your garage floor in as little as 1-2 days. Contact us to chat or to get an estimate. We look forward to serving you!

CEO George Williams Receives C-Suite Award https://agwilliamspainting.com/blog/2020/11/ceo-george-williams-receives-c-suite-award/ Wed, 11 Nov 2020 18:17:48 +0000 https://ag-williams.flywheelsites.com/?p=7161 It is a great honor to share with you that our CEO, George Williams, has received a C-Suite Award from Westfair Communications! This award is given to celebrate and recognize excellent business leaders in Westchester and Fairfield counties who have made great strides to push for success in the best (and toughest) of circumstances.

Throughout the Covid-19 shutdown, George Williams did his best to keep our team off of unemployment. He used the financial reserve within the company as well as the payroll protection plan funds that were available. He was in daily communication with his management team during the shut down, not only to discuss business, but also to talk through the feelings  of his team regarding the sudden and unexpected pandemic.

During the online award event, George Williams was sure to honor his team with these words:

“We are very fortunate that we have a great culture at A. G. Williams. We have a great family atmosphere and a team that’s stuck together… with 70 employees (currently) in the field. In any event, we are ready and more able to meet the new norm than ever before.”

We are thankful to have made it through these tough times this year and to continue to see success because of our team and clients. Our team is fully prepared to continue to work safely with our clients throughout this pandemic.

We are excited to help you achieve your painting goals too! Contact us today to discuss how we can safely bring beauty to your home or business.

We want to congratulate the other winners of this award as well. We feel honored to be in this group of prestigious business leaders!

Celebrating 113 Years of Local Painting Service https://agwilliamspainting.com/blog/2019/08/celebrating-113-years-of-local-painting-service/ Tue, 13 Aug 2019 14:28:49 +0000 https://ag-williams.flywheelsites.com/?p=6196 There’s a lot we’re proud of here at A.G. Williams Painting Company: our team, our values, our old-school craftsmanship…

One of the things we may be most proud of, however, is our history and heritage. This month we’re celebrating our 113th year in business, and that’s a milestone we don’t take lightly (especially in this day and age).

A Quick Look At the History of Our (Your!) Painting Company

  • 1904: Arthur G. Ratsikas entered the United States through Ellis Island, where his name was changed to Arthur Rogers.
  • July 22, 1906: Arthur Williams founded A.G. Williams Painting Company in New York City.
  • Arthur changed his last name again, this time to Williams, since he exclusively used Sherwin-Williams products and thought that the name would help establish his local credibility as a painter.

Since those early days, we have weathered many, many storms, not the least of which was the Great Depression (and economic turmoil, recessions, and wars that followed). This durability as a company is certainly due to our focus on client satisfaction, but also points back to Arthur’s unique focus on his team. Arthur Williams founded this company on a deep commitment to providing consistent work for his painters, keeping them paid before himself even through the leanest of times.

When George Williams took the business over in 1985, he helped usher us into a new chapter of growth. We expanded from just a handful of painters to an operation with over 80 full-team craftspeople, providing commercial and residential services throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

Giving Back Is Part of Our Culture

113 years have watched us grow from an immigrant with a dream to an industry leading painting and flooring company. That’s a remarkable story, and it reminds us of how essential it is to give back to the communities that have trusted us so well over the decades and made this legacy possible.

Since 2006, we’ve donated over $1.2MM in painting services, along with charitable endeavors to nonprofits and neighbors in need.

As a painting company that is now stepping into its 4th generation of leadership, we are still focusing on these core values, and can’t wait to see what the next 113 years will hold!

Thank You!

We all want to thank you, our local clients, friends, and fans, who have cheered us along, and have trusted us with your homes and businesses. It is our pleasure and privilege to serve you!

Williams Painting we have been an active part of the community for over 100 years. Because of the support that we have received from our amazing community, we have worked hard to find creative ways to give back throughout the years. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of local support and trust.

Recently we were awarded with the Summit Community Engagement Certificate. We were humbled and honored to receive this certificate, given to Summit members who are generous with their time, talent and resources.

There are four criteria that must be achieved to win this award

Criteria 1

  • Field hours volunteered
  • Management hours volunteered

OR

  • 1 event per quarter with representatives by both field and management participating

Criteria 2

  • Dollars and/or materials and supplies donated

Criteria 3

  • Vendor relationships established to support your company’s efforts

Criteria 4

  • List of projects that you are supporting to support your employees

Through the year, A.G. Williams works hard to achieve these four criteria. We realize that our loyal community has helped us become what we are today, and because of that, we love to give back in any that we can. We are dedicated to making a difference in our community.

The 2nd Annual Bronxville Road Race is an event driven by members of the community who share a common goal: to raise awareness and funds for the research of rare and inoperable pediatric brain tumors. Specifically, the proceeds of this run will go to the fantastic research and work being done by the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center.

Where and When?

  • September 12, 2015

Autumn Stamford Events You Won’t Want to Miss! https://agwilliamspainting.com/blog/2014/07/autumn-stamford-events-wont-want-miss/ Thu, 31 Jul 2014 13:39:12 +0000 https://ag-williams.flywheelsites.com/blog/?p=1596 Now, before you think “Hey, wait! It’s only the end of July!”, I want to assure you that we aren’t rushing summer. There is still plenty of time to get in those beach trips and soak up some of the sun that we won’t see for a while once the colder months hit. Enjoy it!

At the same time, though, it’s never too early to think about fun, fall community events in Stamford, the area we call home. We live in such a fast-paced, plugged-in world that sometimes it can be hugely valuable to unplug, gather up the family, dog, friends, or any combination of those, and visit with some great local people.

What Stamford Events should I know About?

Glad you asked! Here are a few that we wanted to highlight. Check out the links for more detailed time/place information.

  1. Arts and Crafts On Bedford St. (September 20)– How do over 100 craft and artisan boutiques sound to you? This will be an awesome opportunity to support local craftspeople, and to also find some pieces that might just go really well with your interior paint and design scheme.

  2. Giant Balloon Inflation Party (November 22) – Do you have little kids, or maybe you’re just really into balloons? Check out the Point72 Asset Management Giant Balloon Inflation Party. This is a chance for a behind-the-scenes look at the balloons used in the UBS Parade Spectacular. Speaking of which”¦

  3. UBS Parade Spectacular (November 23) – After you have watched the balloons come to life in the Inflation Party, come back for the family-friendly parade, complete with floats and a marching band.

These are just a few of the great Stamford events and opportunities coming up in our hometown area. We hope you won’t miss out on these! And, if you know of a valuable community event that you would like to make us all aware of, please feel free to post information in the comments below.

AGW Charity Project: Her Haven https://agwilliamspainting.com/blog/2012/06/agw-charity-project-her-haven/ Fri, 08 Jun 2012 14:23:39 +0000 https://ag-williams.flywheelsites.com/blog/?p=346 As part of our continuing tradition of serving and giving back to the community, A.G. Williams is delighted to partner with Her Haven to provide transformations in the lives of deserving women. For a woman who is selected, this project involves a complete redesign and remodel of a significant space in her life, either in her home or office.

By renovating a room to fit the recipient’s life and goals, Her Haven seeks to inspire women “to live fuller, richer, more productive lives.” By partnering with the talents and resources of a number of community organizations, we are able to provide a professional quality living or work space that will enhance the life of the one who receives it.

“I was thrilled to see the strong support of members of our community at our Launch Celebration on May 17.  The look on Nordia and Elizabeth’s faces when they saw the design concepts presented by Fairfield University’s Interior Design students was truly priceless,” said Carey Dougherty, Founder & Executive Director at Her Haven. “Having the support of companies like AG Williams Painting Company is so critical to our mission of bringing a little piece of peace to women through a well designed space.  With their help and with the help of other corporate sponsors, Her Haven looks forward to ”˜designing a difference’ for the many deserving women in our communities who quietly serve.”

A.G. Williams is donating the professional craftsmanship for the first two Her Haven projects, which is valued at up to $2,500. Additional services in design and construction are being provided by Fairfield University’s Interior Design program and by Habitat for Humanity.

“At A.G. Williams we feel it is important to give back to the local community,” said Doug Kitchen, CT Account Representative. “Every home I go in seems to have an office for the man in the family. I think it’s about time we recognize that the women in our lives deserve and need a space of their own. The way “Her Haven” is honoring these ladies strikes a chord with me, and I’m thrilled AG Williams can have a part in it.”

Dedicated to giving back to our community, A.G. Williams sponsors numerous charitable events each year, including fundraising for ovarian and breast cancer support services, free home painting for deserving recipients and more.

A.G. Williams Walks to Support Breast Cancer https://agwilliamspainting.com/blog/2011/10/a-g-williams-walks-to-support-breast-cancer/ Fri, 14 Oct 2011 15:58:12 +0000 https://ag-williams.flywheelsites.com/blog/?p=170 breast cancer walkOn Sunday, October 2, 2011, Paul Viggiano, Director of Business Administration and Marketing, George Williams, President and CEO, and members of the A.G. Williams Painting Company team raised more than $1,100 through their participation in the 17th Annual Support Connection Support-A-Walk at FDR State Park in Yorktown, New York. The three-mile walk, attended by 10,000 participants this year, is held to increase awareness of and generate funds to benefit free support services for people affected by ovarian and breast cancer.

We are proud of our contributions to organization in the communities we serve. At the A.G. Williams display table at Support-A-Walk, we handed out hundreds of pink Paint It Pink water bottles to walkers. This month’s A.G. Williams Paint It Pink Campaign donates a percentage of the profits from every paint job to the Support Connection to acknowledge its work for breast cancer. Our Paint It Teal program, for support of those affected by ovarian cancer, continues our donations to the Support Connection through the end of 2011.
