If you follow our blog and social media, you likely have noticed that we typically showcase the residential work we complete. Interior and exterior painting, pressure washing, staining, and painting/refinishing cabinetry are all projects that keep our calendar full.
We also, however, have teams dedicated to meeting commercial painting needs, and are frequently asked to serve local businesses, property managers, and homeowners’ associations.
In this case, we would like to give you a brief tour of a recent unique painting project that involved rust, tides, special containment procedures, and the Otter Creek Bridge.
The Details and Planning Behind This Bridge Painting Project
Painting over water always requires careful planning, both for safety reasons and because debris needs to be completely contained.
We not only had heavily-corroded surfaces to deal with here at the Otter Creek Bridge, but we also had the tide cycle to consider. When the water was at its lowest point, we could quickly get to work.
Remember that debris we mentioned? To keep the waterway clean, we purchased a special tarp designed for the purpose that would catch any falling contaminants. This was especially crucial as we scraped away the loose, failed coating.
To complete the transformation, we applied a specialized coating that will protect and preserve these surfaces. Not only will this new coating serve its practical, daily purpose of fighting corrosion and decay, but it also is an undeniable aesthetic upgrade!
We love adding enduring beauty to our local community, whether it be a home, business, school, or even a bridge. If you have any questions about how we can serve you, please contact us at A.G. Williams Painting Company today. We would love to talk with you.
