When people think of fall colors for house painting, browns, oranges, and golds usually are the first ones that come to mind. Not teal or pink. But at A.G. Williams, teal and pink have special meaning. Supporters of research and services related to ovarian cancer display a teal ribbon and pink long has been the color for breast cancer awareness. For the remainder of 2011, A.G. Williams will be donating a portion of our profits from residential painting and commercial painting jobs to the Support Connection, a Westchester County-based not-for-profit organization that offers free, confidential support services to people nationwide who are affected by ovarian and breast cancer.
A.G. Williams believes that it is important to give back to the community. We are focusing this year’s efforts on breast and ovarian cancer, two diseases that affect so many people in Westchester County and southern Fairfield County. The Support Connection does excellent work providing emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends, empowering women to help each other and to advocate for their own health care.
In honor of National Ovarian Cancer Month in September, we have launched our Paint it Teal program. You can make a dramatic statement by painting one of your walls in a shade of teal. Our Paint it Pink program begins in October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and continues through December. But even if you don’t choose teal or pink house paint, A.G. Williams still will make a donation to the Support Connection.
You can join us in our efforts by becoming part of the A.G. Williams team for the 17th Annual Support A Walk on Sunday, October 2nd, at FDR Park in Yorktown. For more information, visit https://www.supportconnection.org.
